David is the Interim Impact Director for Digital for the Construction Innovation Hub. With over 25 years in industry David is a Chartered Construction Manager by background and Global Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Information Management (Consultancy Director) for AECOM. He was previously employed by Mace as Head of BIM, and as Technical Services / BIM Programme Director with Balfour Beatty.
David has been involved in delivering innovative BIM and digital asset management strategies across the globe from UK, Hong-Kong, Singapore, Australia and the Baltics. He was seconded in the UK Cabinet Office in 2011 as Head of BIM Implementation and has been a key contributor to the UK public sector BIM mandate (GCS 2011-2016) and continues to support through his role with the Centre for Digital Built Britain programme. He was also seconded into the Scottish Future Trust (SFT) as Chair of the Scottish BIM Delivery Group.
He is a Trustee of the Chartered Institute of Building and Vice Chair of the Construction Scotland Innovation Centre.

Rupert Coggon and Tenmat have been at the forefront of much of the design and testing of many intumescent based fire protection products since the late 1990s, this work has culminated with Tenmat winning two Queen’s awards of product innovation, the latest award being for ventilated fire barriers in 2019. Rupert is the inventor of a number of Patent applications relating to fire protection products and continues to work with new developments around the globe.

In a career spanning over 40 years, Andrew Carpenter, CEO of Constructing Excellence Midlands and the Structural Timber Association (STA), has played an active part in the construction industry, focusing on business development, best practice and the sector’s improvement agenda.
Andrew joined the UKTFA as CEO in January 2011 and oversaw the rebrand to the STA in 2013 and is now very much at the centre of the offsite construction agenda, whilst continuing to promote the capability of structural timber products and the capacity within the sector to help resolve the housing crisis.
Since 1999 he has been involved with the Government change agenda and is currently CEO of Constructing Excellence South West & Chair of BIM4Housing.

Tom Mason provides fire safety engineering strategies for the built environment at both site and construction level; including modular and off-site construction. His work in fire safety for Modern Methods of Construction has led him to become a recognised thought leader in the sector; bringing much valued insight to modular and offsite construction projects. His knowledge and forensic like attention to any fire safety related detail is employed during the early stages of the design and specification process (ensuring regulatory compliance) and in the overall design of a fire-safe building.

Sam Stacey is Challenge Director – Transforming Construction at UKRI. He is leading the Transforming Construction Challenge, a £170 million research and innovation investment, matched by £250 million from industry, to create high-performing, cost-effective buildings for the UK and beyond. Linked to the Construction Sector Deal, the programme includes the Active Building Centre supporting the wide-scale roll-out of energy-positive buildings, the Construction Innovation Hub to propagate standardised building products and processes, plus a Construction Network and funding for piloting of new construction solutions.
Before joining UKRI, Sam was Director of Innovation, Industrialisation and Business Improvement at Skanska UK, a Trustee of the Building Research Establishment, and Chairman of the National Platform for Construction. Sam has also worked for Wates Construction and Buro Happold Engineering. He is a Chartered Structural Engineer with an MBA from Henley Business School and degrees in Civil Engineering, Architecture and Philosophy from Imperial College and Cambridge University.

Working 12 years for the Etex Group, I started as head of the Technical Department of Eternit, with a focus on ventilated facades and building boards out of fibre cement. Later on, I moved to the Siniat department as a Business Developer for high performance building boards. In this period, I managed to create an overview of missing products & systems to become successfull within woodframe and steelframe construction methods. For this growing project market, certification of fire rated solutions is key. Therefor, I tested the past years plenty of Etex solutions for woodframe and steelframe constructions. Recently I joined Etex New Ways, a dedicated division towards the mentioned modern methods of construction.

Dr Emmanuel Daniel is a Senior Lecturer in Construction Management at the University of Wolverhampton UK where he teaches and conducts research in the field of construction project management. He is an academic member of the Construction Futures Research Centre at the University of Wolverhampton.
Emmanuel has been researching on how to apply modern methods of construction approaches for construction process improvement. He has worked on various funded projects valued at £60,000 for various organisations including Highways England. His research outputs have been published in international peer-reviewed journals, as reports and in conferences. He is a Scientific chair for the International Group for Lean Construction 2020 Conference.
He has over six years’ practical experience in the construction industry, where he occupied various positions such as site engineer, construction manager and project engineer. He is a Chartered Member of the CIOB UK and recently served as Vice-Chair of the CIOB Southampton HUB. He is an active member of Lean Construction Institute, UK. He is also the course leader of the MSc Offsite Housing Construction programme at the University of Wolverhampton.

With a Masters’ degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Emily has previously held roles for leading construction consultants; Arup and Mott MacDonald. Gavin graduated in 1999 from the Architectural Association in London. Gavin joined Maccreanor Lavington in 2003 and was promoted to Associate Director in 2013. Alongside playing a pivotal role in shaping and growing the office, Gavin takes an active role in the management of the practice. He has extensive experience in leading project teams. Most recently he was responsible for our award winning work at Garden Halls, a façade design of a 1,200 room student hall located in one of Bloomsbury’s historic Georgian squares, for the University of London and the University Partnership Programme. The most recent projects Gavin has led include the large-scale mixed-use extension to the town centre at Canada Water and the delivery of the first phase of the Lend Lease masterplan at Elephant Park. South Gardens is a 360 unit project including a terrace of Passivhaus accredited homes. Previous projects include two schemes in west London, a 279 unit estate regeneration in Edgware and a 137 unit mixed use scheme in Queens Park. He was also led the award winning high density housing scheme on the former St. Andrews hospital site in Bromley-by-Bow and the Canning Town and Custom House regeneration project.
Gavin has worked on projects of all scales encompassing large strategic regeneration masterplans, residential projects of varying sizes and smaller specific responses to tight urban sites and historic environments. Gavin has particular expertise in offsite construction techniques. The practice most recently, receiving a highly commended award, for Architect of the Year, at the Offsite Awards. Gavin was previously Project Architect on the Sterling prize winning Accordia housing development. Prior to joining Maccreanor Lavington has worked for Behnisch & Partner Architekten, Stuttgart, Nicholas Grimshaw and Partners and London Bloc Architects.

Brian is the Technical Director at Richard Hopkinson Architects, an award winning based in London and Kent, with 26 years’ experience in architecture & construction. Brian’s particular expertise lies in developing optimal solutions for the technological and construction challenges of projects, whether these are traditional delivery or off-site / DfMA projects.
Brian is responsible for ongoing development of the practice’s off-site construction (Design for Manufacture and Construction – DfMA) initiatives which are integrated by the practices’ strong Building Information Management (BIM) working methodology, spanning multiple software platforms and niche applications.
Brian’s MSc focussed on the comparative environmental performance of Off-Site and traditional construction, which has led to a pragmatic appreciation of not just the deliverability challenges facing the industry and the environmental aspects, but also an understanding of which systems are going to deliver best value for a particular type of development.

I have been involved in Roofing for over 30 years within the flat and pitchednroofing industry, with prior employment with major Manufacturers such as D.Anderson and Sons (Icopal) and Kingspan Insulations.
I also help set up and establish a presence for the German/Austrian flat roofing membrane manufacturer Vedag Villas Group within the UK, organising new sales, product and technical literature for the UK in addition to managing specification sales and marketing, office set up and the sales team.
I have also worked for myself for a few years selling a French product into the UK market called SPV, again selling and marketing to key clients and specialist roofing contractors.
I have since worked for Xtralite Rooflights selling to roofing contractors, local authorities, architects etc. I am currently a Area Sales Manager for lightweight steel roofing manufacturer Metrotile UK Ltd. Due to changes in building requirements I have got involved in offsite and modular building so i now have a new role as Offsite and Modular Buildings Manager UK and Ireland

Stewart has spent 34 years working for Stewart Milne Group, starting as an apprentice & progressing to Managing Director of their offsite timber frame operations. He was heavily involved in the design and start-up of the Groups state of the art Offsite Manufacturing Centre, in Witney. His current Group role is responsible for all product and process development across the group, as well as chairing the group design and technical forums within SM Homes.
During 2007 Stewart was the project director of the ground breaking and award winning prototype Sigma® Level 5, near zero carbon Home, the first in the UK. His current role sees Stewart focusing on the development of the group’s award winning Sigma® II Build System and the advancement of the group’s off-site manufacturing and on-site assembly strategies.
Most recently Stewart was instrumental in bringing together and leading the triple award winning AIMC4 consortium. This is a collaborative R&D project, to deliver affordable mainstream low energy homes, through a fabric first approach. This leading edge project secured £3.25m of innovation funding from Government and is widely regarded as an industry exemplar project.
Stewart is a past chairman of UKTFA (UK Timber Frame Association). He is a member of the HBF National Technical Group & member of Construction Scotland Industry Leadership Group. Formerly he was steering group member of the DCLG/ZCH Design versus as built performance project and member of the Sullivan expert panel, review of energy standards in Scotland. More recently Stewart has been involved Construction Leadership Council innovation group & the Scottish Government Working Party Review on fire regulations led by Dr Paul Stollard. He has a master’s degree in project management, lives in Oxfordshire and is a keen golfer.
