Jackie Maginnis, CEO of the Modular & Portable Building Association (MPBA) – alongside Andrew Orriss, Assure Director of the Structural Timber Association (STA), Mike Fairey, Board Member of Light Steel Frame Association (LSFA) and Julie Williams, Business Development Director of Offsite Expo – cut the ribbon to open Offsite Expo 2021, welcoming back the construction professionals from across the UK and beyond, to the first event post-pandemic at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
This highly focused two-day exhibition featured 40+ hours of CPD Accredited Masterclass Seminars, a ‘Spotlight on Offsite’ theatre, an ‘Ask the Expert’ forum, a VIP lounge, 6 feature-builds and an Offsite Connect Buyers and Specifiers Forum.
Rory Lowings from The Hill Group said: “Offsite Expo has been exciting, there are loads of interesting people here. We have had more interest than at previous shows. The show has been well organised, there’s plenty circulation of visitors.”
The Offsite Expo exhibition hit record attendance, with 3,054 delegates visiting over 100 exhibition stands and feature builds promoting offsite systems, technologies, and services, and attending seminars and masterclasses equipped with over 100 speakers.
Offsite Expo was developed as a platform for endless networking and creating new business opportunities. At the heart of the event, the Offsite Connect Buyers and Specifiers Forum, which was open exclusively to exhibitors, was a hive of activity. With 80+ buyers and specifiers registering to participate, including representatives from high-profile housing developers such as Barratt and Persimmon, as well as main contractors Kier and Morgan Sindall. 330+ business meetings took place and feedback from both the buyers and exhibitors has been tremendous.
“The organisation of Offsite Expo 2021 was very professional and well executed. The event organisers were very helpful and accommodating, the pre-planning of the event was exceptional in terms of communication and ensuring successful delivery.” Sam Davies, Construction Director from British Offsite. “We found the exhibition to be very positive, we have had plenty of leads generated and we look forward to following these up in the next coming months.” Clive Reeves, Customer Manager from Knauf. “We had a good day at build-up as it was very well organised, we have had lots of interest at the show which has opened lots of opportunities for us as a company.” Andrew Thomson, Development Director from Ultrapanel.
Our ‘Spotlight on Offsite’ seminar theatre sessions offered the perfect opportunity for companies to promote their external activity to industry fanatics. Whether that be a new launch, or an association update, Offsite Expo brought the picture-perfect target audience together under one roof. The sessions were 30 minutes long and as promised, put these companies straight in the spotlight!
Offsite Expo was not only about securing business opportunities – the conference and exhibition was a beacon of inspiration through knowledge exchange and opinion sharing. Getting to grips with the latest international offsite methods and smart digital technologies was high on the agenda – the extensive range of CPD Accredited Offsite Masterclass and seminar content provided a dynamic and interactive experience, focusing on a variety of offsite construction technologies. Knowledge share and transfer was a prime objective for the masterclasses and the stellar speaker line-up presented some incredible developments across the global offsite supply-chain. Over 100 speakers offered delegates the opportunity to hear from industry experts, showcasing an in-depth analysis and technical know-how within their engaging masterclasses.
Taking centre stage at Offsite Expo on the evening of 21 September 2021, the Offsite Awards was a major coming together of the industry when over 400 guests gathered to celebrate ground-breaking achievements and the pioneers who are developing radical new offsite technologies, innovative product developments and landmark projects using factory-based methods. The final word goes to Michael Crane, Head of Innovation at CIMC Modular Building Systems: “The 2019 event was impressive but 2021 was even better! The quality of the content and exhibitors has made this an integral part of my annual trade show calendar. A must-attend event for everyone interested in the future of the UK Construction industry.”
