Andrew Orriss, from the Structural Timber Association (STA), alongside Richard Hipkiss, Development Director of the Modular Portable Building Association (MPBA) and Julie Williams, Business Development Director of Offsite Expo – cut the ribbon to open Offsite Expo 2022, welcoming back the construction professionals from across the UK and beyond, to Offsite Expo 2022 at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

This highly focused two-day exhibition featured 40+ hours of CPD Accredited Masterclass Seminars, a ‘Spotlight on Offsite’ theatre, a VIP lounge, 11 feature-builds and an Offsite Connect Buyers and Specifiers Forum.

Adam Salt, Business Development Manager – A Proctor Group said: “Offsite Expo has been a really good show this year, we’ve had lots of quality relevant people come to our stand. It’s been one of the best shows we have attended, we haven’t been bombarded with people who weren’t relevant to our stand, it’s all been business and we have enjoyed it very much.”

The Offsite Expo exhibition hit record attendance, with 3,462 delegates visiting 130+ exhibition stands and feature builds promoting offsite systems, technologies, and services, and attending seminars and masterclasses equipped with 100+ speakers.

Offsite Expo was developed as a platform for endless networking and creating new business opportunities. At the heart of the event, the Offsite Connect Buyers and Specifiers Forum, sponsored by Kiss House and James Latham, was open exclusively to exhibitors, and proved to be a hive of activity. With 80+ buyers and specifiers registering to participate, including main contractors; Galliford Try, Morgan Sindall and Willmott Dixon.

Paul Cashman, BDM for British Offsite said: “This is our second year at Offsite Expo and we got such a good response from last year, we definitely wanted to return this year. We found the organisation in terms of the logistics, arriving and building our feature build here has been very smooth. The organisers have been absolutely superb.

The sort of clients we are meeting at Offsite Expo are from all over Europe – we’ve met Developers, Architects, Designers, Students and Housing Associations, so it’s been very, very good for our exposure to the offsite world.”

Richard Hipkiss, Development Director from MPBA said: “The 2 days have been very positive for the association, the seminar theatre went very well on the first day, there has been some very interesting content and it’s been interesting to reflect on the different views between different sectors of offsite construction; specifically the difference between the domestic and the non-domestic.
It’s been quite an educational event, hopefully for the attendees, but also many ways for us exhibitors as well.”

Simon Boyles, Commercial Director from Fusion Steel Framing said: “The one to ones at the Offsite Connect Buyers and Specifiers Forum have proven really useful, it’s great to have some quality time with some key people within the industry. All in all, the attendance of the show has been really positive – the footfall through the stand has been excellent.
Fantastic and I’m sure we will be back.”

The ‘Spotlight on Offsite’ panel discussions, supported by Offsite Alliance, offered the perfect opportunity for companies to promote their external activity to industry fanatics and to discuss the topics that mean the most to them, alongside other industry pioneers. Whether that be a new launch, or an association update, Offsite Expo brought the picture-perfect target audience together under one roof. The sessions were 45-minutes long and as promised, put these companies straight in the spotlight!

Offsite Expo 2022 was not only about securing business opportunities – it was a beacon of inspiration through knowledge exchange and opinion sharing. Getting to grips with the latest international offsite methods and smart digital technologies was high on the agenda – the extensive range of CPD Accredited Offsite Masterclass and seminar content provided a dynamic and interactive experience, focusing on a variety of offsite construction technologies. Knowledge share and transfer was a prime objective for the masterclasses and the stellar speaker line-up presented some incredible developments across the global offsite supply-chain. Over 100 speakers offered delegates the opportunity to hear from industry experts, showcasing an in-depth analysis and technical know-how within their engaging masterclasses.

Taking centre stage at Offsite Expo on the evening of 20 September 2022, the Offsite Awards was a major coming together of the industry when over 400 guests gathered to celebrate ground-breaking achievements and the pioneers who are developing radical new offsite technologies, innovative product developments and landmark projects using factory-based methods.

The final word goes to Nick Whelan, Commercial Director from Kingspan: “Enquiry levels and quality levels have been very, very impressive. My CEO is here today, and he’s seen the number of enquiries we’ve had over the last couple of hours, and he is very impressed. From us it’s a good investment, and we’ve rebooked again for next year’s Offsite Expo.

The show itself is very intimate and extremely focused on what we do as a business and that’s what we need. Very happy, thank you.”
