Buildoffsite (BOS) is the UK’s leading membership organisation for off-site construction and Modern Methods of Construction (MMC). Since 2004, we’ve championed industrialised approaches that deliver greater efficiency, sustainability, and performance across infrastructure, housing, commercial, and retrofit sectors.
As an independent, cross-sector voice, BOS drives innovation, shapes policy, and builds the technical and strategic case for MMC adoption. Our focus is on scaling modern construction methods—supported by robust quality and assurance frameworks that build trust and unlock investment.
A core pillar of our offer is BOPAS (Buildoffsite Property Assurance Scheme), developed with LRQA to provide long-term assurance for innovative building systems. Now widely recognised by lenders, insurers, and developers, BOPAS sets the benchmark for durability, risk, and mortgageability in MMC. Members can engage with BOPAS working groups and use the accreditation to strengthen market confidence.
